Nominated for the 2023 SXSW Innovation Awards for Best Immersive, and a The Webby Awards 2023 honoree for the Metaverse, Immersive & Virtual - Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, StoryTrails is the UK's largest immersive storytelling project to date. Created by StoryFutures in partnership with the BFI, BBC, Nexus Studios, Niantic, Produce UK and The Reading Agency and guided by our Executive Producer, David Olusoga, StoryTrails is a breathtaking deep dive into our collective histories. We bring stories from the past to life through the magic of the 3D internet, demonstrating the beauty, resilience and love in our hometowns.

I was one of 50 UK creatives selected to work on StoryTrails and worked as the Co-Producer of an AR Trail telling the story of Ethel Haythornthwaite - a green pioneer ahead of her time who fought to protect the countryside in and around Sheffield, and was instrumental in establishing the Peak District National Park. Our trail brings her story to life sharing interviews, photographs from her personal archive and previously unseen archive film footage.

The StoryTrails app is free and available for both iPhone and Android, and can be accessed at-home in addition to public places in 15 locations in the UK where you can experience history exactly where it happened.

With special thanks to CPRE Peak District and South Yorkshire - the charity set up by Ethel in 1924, and to Sheffield Libraries and Archives.
