Today is a Good Day
Co-created with young people at Clifton Learning Partnership Youth Club in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Based in an area with high levels of unemployment, inequality and incidents of anti-social behaviour, the youth club offers a safe space where young people can be free to play, explore their creativity and be themselves. Produced as part of ‘Rotherham Rhythm’, a project aimed at engaging young people across Rotherham in the arts through music, dance and visual arts, co-directed by Nisha Lall/ASHAY Dance CIC and Tongesayi Gumbo/Khula Arts. Funded by Arts Council England.
Walk with Amal
Representing millions of refugees forced to leave their homes, in 2021 Little Amal walked 8,000 miles from the Turkey-Syria border to Manchester with a simple message: "don't forget about us." Her penultimate stop was the first ever City of Sanctuary. This is the story of the people who helped to welcome her, and the experiences she had visiting Sheffield. Producer/Director/Camera/Editor.
